Taking responsibility for the climate
Based on humanistic ethics, My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative stands for encouraging people to take responsibility for our actions and to protect the planet for future generations. Climate and environmental rules are based on the idea of stewardship, in which we manage the earth with care and responsibility. Enforcing environmental rules can help reduce inequalities by ensuring that everyone has equal access to a healthy and sustainable environment.
My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative positions
- The Netherlands must commit more to European and international cooperation to solve climate and environmental problems.
- Nitrogen rules and CO2 reduction or farm buyouts must be implemented uniformly, also to promote an equal competitive position among farmers at the European level.
- We stand in solidarity with the people in Groningen who have suffered earthquake damage. A reliable government does what it promises. We are committed to compensating the victims of this disaster as soon as possible.
