More effective, efficient and smarter
My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative has observed a hardening of society for years now. Organised crime, including the drugs trade, causes much nuisance and murderous violence. In addition, mental health care has been heavily cut back, which in recent years has regularly led to various fatal incidents. Politics is deeply divided, meaning political decision-making often lacks support from one or more groups. As a result, groups frequently exercise their right to demonstrate, which often keeps the police very busy.
Financial punishment wherever possible
My Vote Counts advocates for a police force in which force is only used as a last resort. Available police resources must be deployed effectively and efficiently, with careful thought given to the right tactical approach. Criminals are often hit hardest when they’re hit in the wallet.
A bodycam for every police officer
In addition, police officers must be given the right equipment, so they can act appropriately in every situation. The police must intensify cooperation with mental health care. People with mental health problems need a different approach than a drug criminal. My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative wants a police force for the citizens, not against the citizens. We want a police force that protects and serves, and uses force only as a last resort. “To protect and serve”.
