Abolish the monarchy in its current form

Mijn Stem Telt! Het Burgerinitiatief (My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative) wants to abolish the monarchy in its current form. We see the monarchy as a symbol of unity. However, hereditary succession is no longer in keeping with the times.

Mijn Stem Telt! Het Burgerinitiatief (My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative) takes the following positions:

• We see a purely symbolic function for the monarchy.
• The monarchy should no longer have any influence over political processes and decision-making.
• As far as we’re concerned, the exemption that means members of the royal family don’t have to pay tax can be abolished.
