Abolish the monarchy in its current form

My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative wants to abolish the monarchy in its current form. We see the monarchy as a symbol of unity. However, hereditary succession is no longer in keeping with the times.

My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative takes the following positions:

• We see a purely symbolic function for the monarchy.
• The monarchy should no longer have any influence over political processes and decision-making.
• As far as we’re concerned, the exemption that means members of the royal family don’t have to pay tax can be abolished.
