Making serious work of a circular economy
My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative is fully committed to a circular economy in order to significantly reduce the pressure on natural resources. We live in a consumer society, but by now there is broad awareness that we cannot continue on the same footing. Through our current consumer society, we are depleting the earth, which manifests itself in increasing environmental and climate problems.
My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative positions:
- The circular economy needs to get off the ground more. This circular economy is not new, but My Vote Counts! The Citizens’ Initiative wants to place even more emphasis on reuse, repair, recycling and sustainability by investing in research and startups in this field. This way, we achieve a reduction in the waste mountain faster and encourage the reuse of materials and the extension of products’ lifespans.
- Much more emphasis in education on ICT, programming, AI, and (climate) technology, so that today’s young people can later earn a living in the new economy, which is coming regardless.
- We advocate for an economic vision of the future for all provinces.
